EmbraerX is looking for a creative Design Lead who is passionate about creating new-to-the-world digital products. You will collaborate and co-create with our global team of researchers, product managers, and engineers to research, design, and prototype unprecedented experiences. We are a diverse team of specialists currently building and testing exciting projects that are changing the future of transportation and aviation.

As the Design Lead, you will help define the future of our customer experience products across Beacon. In this role, you will focus on creating unique and engaging products on behalf of our customers and an ecosystem of aviation industry partners. You will lead design products for emerging platforms and technologies. You will be the consistent advocate for our users at the intersection of design, business goals, insights, and engineering. You must possess a clear vision for the future of user experiences and always advocate for the best possible solutions. Your work will impact our existing and future products. You should have deep knowledge of user-centered design principles and excel at research, synthesis, ideation and rapid prototyping.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement beautiful, usable, and scalable interfaces and flows across a range of features and personas.
• Launch new products and features, validate usability and desirability, and iterate quickly.
• Collaborate on deliverables with engineering, product management, support, marketing, sales, etc.
• Make design choices based on user behavior, business goals, engineering capabilities, and empirical data.
• Identify and drive new and existing opportunities in the roadmap.
• Shape the culture and processes to scale the capacity and quality bar of the design team.
• Build, keep and sustain a strong design system.
• Work directly with customers to make sure we are addressing the problems to be solved.

Challenges

• Work with ambiguous problems, understand nuances in personas and motivations, and balance customization and flexibility in the UI.
• Effectively communicate complex concepts and priorities across all levels of the organization
• Understand and apply human-centered design to the aviation industry.
• Maintain a high standard for visual design and user experience.
• Think in systems: extrapolate and extend shared patterns and behaviors.

• All design applications must link to or include a portfolio. You portfolio should demonstrate how your designs influenced successful outcomes and innovation.
• 7+ years of design experience in large-scale software platforms and working with cross-functional teams.
• Experience shipping mobile products and enterprise software.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability for clear articulation of strategy, process, and leading cross-functional meetings.
• Experience with end-to-end product development: vision & strategy, user research, defining user problems, prototyping and validation, detailed execution, excellent command of content and language.

Desirable Requirements

• Experience working with Figma, design systems, etc.
• Experience working with remote teams
• Experience designing new products end-to-end / startup
